6. Students must have a first-class average in the last two years of studies for this scholarship in Canada.
7. Students pursuing joint professional degree programs (MD/Ph.D., DVM/Ph.D., JD/Ph.D.) are eligible, however, only Ph.D. tenure will be funded for the Vanier Scholarship in Canada.
8. Students must have a significant research component in the research proposal for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
9. Students must not be faculty of the institution that has a Vanier quota or any other institution for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship 2023. Students must be granted leave for the Ph.D. program from the institution for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
10. The student must be a full-time student for this scholarship. If the student has some disability or has to support their family, he/she can be enrolled as a part-time student for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
11. For part-time students, the two-month study will be considered a one-month study as compared to full-time students who are eligible for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships.
12. Canadian Federal Government employees can only be eligible if they will be having unpaid leave from the government and are eligible for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
13. Eligible students can apply for both Vanier and agency-specific Ph.D. scholarships for the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship.
