Eligibility Criteria for 5,000 University of Toronto Scholarships
- Students must be an international student (i.e. a non-Canadian requiring a study permit);
- Students must be currently in their final year of secondary school or have graduated no earlier than June 2024
- Students must begin their studies at the University of Toronto in September 2024 (students already attending post-secondary studies cannot be considered for the 5,000 University of Toronto Scholarship; students starting their studies in January 2024 at another post-secondary institution cannot be considered so apply before the deadline).

How can I suggest a pupil?
Every year, beginning in September, high schools that have already been validated by Enrollment Services will get an email with a secure, customized nomination form. Please fill out an application to be a part of our program, which will be available online starting in September, if your school has not been confirmed. (Link external) We will send you your school’s nomination form and the following stages as soon as your school has been authenticated.
When may I submit a student nomination?
Beginning in September, nominations will be accepted. November 30, 2023, is the deadline for this year’s Pearson Scholar nominations.
I want to recommend more than one pupil.
Each year, schools may propose one student. The purpose of the Pearson Scholarship is to honor deserving students worldwide. Your school selects your best candidate for nomination as part of the selection process. We want educational institutions to suggest the pupil who most perfectly embodies the attributes of a Pearson Scholar.
When can I expect to hear back from my student nominee?
The recipients of the Pearson Scholarship will be contacted by the end of April 2024.
Even if a student hasn’t applied to U of T, may I still nominate them?
Yes, you are able to propose a student who is not yet enrolled at U of T. However, candidates must first apply for admission to U of T before they may submit their scholarship application.
